Officer & Council Eligibility Criteria

Position Criteria for Eligibility
President-Elect
  • Candidate must be an active member in good standing for 5 years and recognized as a leader in the field of endocrinology
  • Candidate must have recent experience serving as a Council member, Vice President or Secretary-Treasurer
  • Candidate must meet the Council-approved definition of basic scientist, clinical scientist, or physician-in-practice according to the established rotation
  • Individuals may serve only one term as President
Vice President
  • Candidate must be an active member in good standing for 5 years
  • Candidate must have recent experience serving on Council or on committees, preferably as chair
  • Candidate must be recognized as a leader in his/her constituency (basic scientist, clinical scientist, or physician-in-practice) who can help advance the field
  • Candidate must meet the relevant Council-approved definitions of his/her constituency (basic scientist, clinical scientist, or physician-in-practice) according to the established rotation
  • Individuals may serve only one full term as Vice President
  • Past Presidents are not eligible to run for Vice President positions
Council Member
  • Candidate must be an active member in good standing for 5 years
  • Candidate must have recent experience serving on committees, preferably as chair
  • Council members nominated for designated seats (basic scientist, clinical scientist, or physician-in-practice) must meet the Council-approved definitions
  • Individuals may serve only one full term as Council members
